Bizarro World!
Well, let's just say I experienced the school yesterday. We went to figure out who their teacher was and visit their classroom. Well, when we get there the server was down, so nothing was posted. Finally, an hour later, and not one conversation with another parent, just me and my kids playing on the playground, the names and classrooms were posted. Also, by then the teachers were gone and you couldn't see your classroom. You would have thought they were posting the listings of the winners for the 25MM dollar lottery. Picture Charlie in Willy Wonka when he has his golden ticket, and can't get out of the sea of people. That was me and my three kids. It was insane. So I finally squeeze in there and find Leah and Abby's teacher. I wish it ended there. First of all, Abby is listed as Kindergarten, but not AM or PM. Should I guess? Then Leah is listed in a 2/3 grade class. That means that she is in a class with 2nd and 3rd graders. Why? Who knows? It is random. However, there are also straight 3rd grade classes. It promotes "cross generational learning". What are there grandma's in the classroom? and once again, it doesn't end there. I find this "woman" (and I use the term loosely) with a bullhorn (right there, very feminine!) and a school shirt on and ask her about this 2/3 class. She assures me they teach both 2nd and 3rd grade curriculum separate. Huhh??? I said well she has already completed second grade, and why wouldn't she be in a straight 3rd grade class? She assured me it was random and suggested I look on line for there philosophical ideas on multi age instruction. I wanted to tell her I suggest that she shove it. Oh, by the way, this woman is my new principal!!! Where is Dr. Tillman when I need her, who now seems like Mary Poppins given this monster!
Whew!!!
